But when i say "everyone is an artist" i relate both to the famous Joseph Beuys quote and the boldfaced rants of the tabloids. (The "I could have done that" school of art criticism). Sometimes I really do connect to the idea that the terms artist and art are both relative and subjective. And sometimes I feel as if the term artist is bandied about far too freely.  &#13;

What lies below are my thoughts and experiences on both sides of the argument. &#13;
